which is the estimated halfway point of his Meet Me Halfway walk to Phoenix, Arizona for homeless teens. Jimmy tweeted, “I cannot believe I’ve walked to Texas from Nashville.” His walk has been made a bit easier by lightening his load a bit. Wayne said, “Since I’ve stopped wearing my backpack, I’ve been able to pick up my [walking] pace. I’ve felt my knees and my back get sore out here on the road, but the key for me has been stretching, wearing the right shoes, and drinking a lot of water. I’m making sure I take stretch breaks throughout the day, because my hamstrings have a tendency to tighten up. You know, in hindsight, I don’t know if there is a way you can train for something like this. I didn’t. I’ve just always been really active and I felt like I could pull it off.”

Jimmy continues to receive some very special gifts on his journey. He explains to AOL’s The Boot, “People are giving me crosses every day now because I mentioned it one time in my tweet that I wanted to take the cross that I was wearing and give it to one of the kids there in Phoenix when I see them. The next day, and every day since then, I get crosses from my fans who come out to support project Meet Me Halfway. It’s turned into quite a cross collection now out on the road. I got 28 crosses today.” He says it’s cool he is swamped with cross necklaces, but he can’t wear them all or he’d “look like Mr. T!” Wayne expects to arrive in Phoenix sometime in May or June.

Local, in your backyard & within yelling distance!

Lots of calls, emails and texts this morning concerning JAYHAWKS junior center COLE ALDRICH’s decision to aim for the NBA.  Some are concerned about him leaving school, while others understand his family’s financial straits and his desire to do something about it.  COLE, put some money away so you’ll be prepared for whatever happens.  Good luck!

Good to know the I-70/I-435 interchange construction has begun, but wonder how long that’ll take .. ugh!  Hope we n-e-v-e-r- let KC get like cities such as Pittsburgh, where they’ll never have the money and time to put their roads into proper condition.

Seems we’re bouncin’ from spring to summer!  80 today, 84 tomorrow, but back to 60s with rain this weekend.  Again, ugh!!!

HollyWeIrd!

SANDRA BULLOCK’S husband JESSE JAMES managed to talk his way out of a ticket for a missing front license plate and overly tinted windows, by telling the California Highway Patrol office … his marital mess!  The officer gave him a break, and he drove to Tuscon AZ, where he’s now in a drug, alcohol and sex addiction rehab center.   He should have confessed earlier, and done a 2 for 1 with TIGER WOODS!

I predict TIM URBAN or DIDI BENAMI will be next to leave AMERICAN IDOL.  Still hope 16 year old Aaron Kelly will have another chance to show off his love of Country music!

Local, in your backyard & within yelling distance!

Saturday my wife and I took a drive to Shawnee Mission Park and Kill Creek Park.  Both are in g-r-e-a-t shape, and the water looked fantastic!  Can’t wait!

Sad weekend for K-State and their fans, however the returning players seem poised for next season.  Could be explosive!

HollyWeIrD!

SANDRA BULLOCK is back in Hollywood from Texas, living in a house she owned before marrying JESSE, and planning their face-to-face, and most likely … divorce!  Rumors have it she’s beyond hurt … she’s ANGRY!!!

How about FOX cancelling “24″!  Seems the staff writers are out of ideas.  Nevertheless, a “24″ movie is in the works, and the show could survive if some new ideas were injected and another network picked it up.

106-5 THE WOLF!

With the announcement of the downtown Folgers operation moving to New Orleans in 2012, employees are now waiting to learn, “what’s next?”.  This morning Laurie and I talked with you about this and how it will affect many.  For over a hundred years, the fresh aroma of coffee beans has filled the air there, and as expected, most feel it’s a friend and employer who’s going away, permanently.  Around 180 employees will be affected.  Best wishes to all involved.  At least they have some time to prepare.  Most don’t.

Mayor Funkhouser has a bet with St Louis’s Mayor that KC’s census returns will beat theirs!  If we lose, he’ll send beer and bbq.  Hmm?  We asked you what else could he send to truly let it be known, this is KC, baby!!!  Thanks for your suggestions of Funkhouser’s wife, a replica water fountain, and even some red slippers!  Dorothy would have been proud.  I say put some ribs in them!

If you need or want to do anything outside, better do so tomorrow/Friday.  Beautiful day 60 degrees ahead, before rain returns this weekend.  Ugh!

HollyWiErD!

JESSE JAMES friends say he feels wife SANDRA BULLOCK won’t leave him!?  Hmm?  He may have been around too much carbon monoxide when eluding to that.

Glad OCTOMOM and her housefull of kids, will stay right there, in their house.  Glad her dad was able to secure her a grace period and look into refinancing.  Then again, that doesn’t mean it’s over.

Fox has reportedly approached Conan O’Brien about hosting American Idol’s annual charity special, “Idol Gives Back,” on April 21st. Wouldn’t that be neat?

The two sides are reportedly still in talks about Conan starring in a late-night show for the network, but word is, Fox has already reached out to NBC to see if Conan hosting “Idol Gives Back” would violate the terms of his Tonight Show settlement.

Turns out (unfortunately for Fox, and the rest of us), NBC said it would — the settlement prohibits Conan from appearing on TV until September. Can’t wait to see what happens next!

MARCH MADNESS turned into MARCH SADNESS for the JAYHAWKS and their fans.    Some told me they simply didn’t go out to win, while others said Iowas was simply the better team at that moment in time.  Now, the focus is on K-State and their game Thursday against Xavier at 8:37pm.  Brush up on your brackets!

This morning we talked about how the first day of Spring snow forced changes to your schedule.  I saw more vehicles off Shawnee Mission Pkwy, than deer!

Oh!  How about Tiger Woods very coached 5 minute interview!?  Gotta wonder if he had an earpiece on, taking prompts?  Very well said, well put, and concise.  That’s what you get with 5 minutes!

HollyWeIrd!

A new ruling has denied the estate of ANNA NICOLE SMITH the $300mil she had said was promised to her from her late short-lived husband.  Of course, legal counsel will appeal … again!

How about singer/actor JENNIFER LOPEZ in talks to redo the KURT RUSSEL/GOLDIE HAWN comedy, “OVERBOARD”!?  Why?????

Sci-Fi lovers are talking about “PREDATORS”, which will be out in JULY.  Trailers are on-line and in theatres, and intial response is HOT!
