 I… love… SPRING!

But so far, it’s been that odd, transitional time of year when Mother Nature can’t quite make up her mind on whether it should actually *feel* like spring.  LOL.

Well, no matter what, I’m definitely excited about spring really, truly being here!  With the Royals Home Opener, and then with Fountain Day coming up April 12th (when all of Kansas City, MO’s 47 public fountains turn back on), it finally feels ‘official,’ doesn’t it?  ENJOY!

This is also the time of year I start snappin’ all kinds of photos of the flowers in my garden — can’t wait for more and more stuff to bloom! :-)

One thing’s for certain:  St. Patrick’s Day (a.k.a. Shotgun Jaxon Day) is huge in Kansas City!

Whatever you’ve got planned, have FUN! :-)

And if you choose to have some beverages, please don’t drink and drive.  Call a friend or family member, call a cab… whatever it takes to get you and everyone else home safely!

Now and throughout the year, I wish you nothing but happiness — hope you find lots of wonderful things at the end of the rainbow!

Love the Rain!

Posted in: Laurie

Remember that song when we were kids?  “Rain, rain go away…”

It was fun to sing, but looking back, I’ve never agreed with the lyrics!  LOL.

Of course, we all love to do outdoor stuff on a perfect, sunny day! :-)  But I’ve always enjoyed the rainy days, too!

Being inside on a rainy day… driving in the rain… hiking in the woods when it’s softly raining… watching a spooky old movie when it’s raining…  We’ve got a lot of rain this time of year, but as long as the power stays on and the basement stays dry, I love it!

Here are some highlights of my sister Sharon’s retirement from the Pentagon this past January, after 42 years of service. Secretary Of Defense, William Gates gave a stirring speech on her behalf. What an honor to be invited, and needless to say, I couldn’t be more proud!! Sharon has served through eight Presidential Administrations.
